BRISTOL – The UK’s Froglord has released “Croak,” a new bonus track coinciding with the vinyl repress of their 2021 album The Mystic Toad, expanding their established mythological narrative.

Froglord, the Bristol-based solo project of Ben Oak, released “Croak” on June 3, 2026, as a bonus track on the vinyl repress of their 2021 album, The Mystic Toad. This release, handled by Black Throne Productions, also coincides with the track’s role as the theme for the upcoming found-footage horror film *Frogman Returns*, deepening the band’s collaboration with the film series.

To support the vinyl reissue and new single, Froglord will embark on a UK tour in July, supporting Bat Sabbath, the alter egos of Cancer Bats. The tour schedule includes appearances at Bloodstock Open Air and a debut at Stoomfest London, showcasing their signature psychedelic doom metal sound.

A Ritualistic Descent into Amphibious Apocalypse

Froglord’s “Croak,” a bonus track on the The Mystic Toad vinyl repress, expands the band’s psychedelic doom metal mythology. It delves into the Loveland Frogman cryptid folklore, aligning with the *Frogman Returns* film. The opening chant “CROAK! CROAK! CROAK! NO HOAX!” establishes a ritualistic tone, challenging skepticism and exploring the aftermath of cryptid revelation. For a full analysis of the track “Croak” by Froglord, visit whisp.fm.

The song explicitly ties to the Loveland Frogman’s legendary wand and distinctive croak, integrating regional lore into a cosmic amphibian narrative. Froglord’s signature deep, gruff vocals resonate with an occultic, chanting quality, amplified by the band’s collective “Croak” chants, likened to Benedictine monks. This emphasizes a cyclical pull towards ancient, dark rituals, culminating in apocalyptic imagery that violently disrupts natural balance.
