The Stifled, a four-piece band from Baltimore, Maryland, emerged onto the music scene around January 2019, quickly establishing a presence within the melodic hardcore and skate punk genres. Their sound incorporated metallic undertones, combining melodic vocals with gang shouts and snarls. This blend contributed to a style characterized by speed, heaviness, and a balance of catchiness with an angry edge.
The band’s initial release was a self-titled debut EP. This recording showcased their defined aesthetic, drawing comparisons to acts such as Yankee Brutal and A Dying Regime. The EP served as their introduction, highlighting their approach to punk rock with a distinct vocal delivery and instrumental aggression.

Following their debut, The Stifled continued to be active, culminating in the release of an official music video for their song “Undo” in December 2022. The track features lyrics reflecting themes of detachment and confrontation, such as “I’ve got a feeling it’s over / And that I really don’t care” and “Hey you can you undo / You’re breaking everything.”
Alongside their recorded output, The Stifled engaged in live performances, sharing stages with other bands. They played at venues like Zen West, appearing on bills with groups such as Kings Of The Wildthings, Side Affects & No Promises, Eternal Boy, and Great Heights Band. These performances allowed the band to present their energetic sound to audiences and further solidify their position within the regional music scene.
