The band delivered 'anthemic moments, crisp guitar tones, and well-timed vocals/harmonies' on their debut EP.
STMNTS, an emotive pop-punk band originating from Baltimore, Maryland, officially formed in 2023, featuring vocalist Liam King, rhythm guitarist Jamie Black, lead guitarist Drew Chiodo, bassist Josh Pelc, and drummer Shawn Smyth. The quintet quickly began to establish their sound, characterized by a blend of pop-punk influences. Their initial offering to the music scene was the single “Handpainted,” which included a feature from Patrick Williams, released in May 2023.
Building on this momentum, STMNTS released their debut EP, Tendencies, in September 2023. The five-song record was noted for its anthemic qualities, clear guitar tones, and coordinated vocal performances, drawing comparisons to bands like The Wonder Years and Four Year Strong. Following the EP, the band continued to release new material, including the single “Save Face” in May 2024 and “Sinking In” in March 2025.
As of 2026, STMNTS continued their output with the single “Fixture” in May and are scheduled to perform at the Shoreline Summer Festival in July. These releases and live appearances have contributed to their ongoing development within the pop-punk genre.
