A Stranger To You

Fans eagerly awaited "A Stranger To You" for six years, as it marks Loathe's first full-length studio album since their critically acclaimed 2020 release, "I Let It In and It Took Everything". The band explained that the extended period allowed them to evolve personally and musically, ensuring the new material genuinely reflected their changing tastes and current artistic vision.

"A Stranger To You" boasts an impressive and eclectic lineup of collaborators, including the likes of jazzy/electronic multi-instrumentalist Jordan Rakei, fellow UK heavy contemporaries Static Dress, rapper/lyricist bucki sugar, and multi-hyphenate Mansur Brown. The lead single "Revenant" also features Jami Morgan and Eric "Shade" Balderose of NOWHERE2RUN (formerly of Code Orange), adding unique layers to Loathe's sound.

Loathe's own guitarist, Erik Bickerstaffe, took on the pivotal role of engineering, producing, and mixing "A Stranger To You", with additional mixing contributions from Ed Al-Shakarchi. This deep involvement by a band member highlights their hands-on approach and dedication to crafting their distinct sonic identity.

Described as their 'most sonically adventurous work to date,' "A Stranger To You" pushes Loathe's established foundation of metalcore and shoegaze into new territories. The album incorporates hypnotic shades of psychedelia, immersive synth tapestries, and genuinely unique percussive patterns, creating a complex and interconnected listening experience designed to be heard front to back.

The lyrical and emotional core of "A Stranger To You" is heavily shaped by the band's personal growth and the trials that come with it. Frontman Kadeem France noted that while it might not be as intensely focused on personal trauma as previous works, it explores the pressures and expectations that have arisen with their increasing success.
