The Ringing Bell

The album features former Slipknot and Suicidal Tendencies drummer Jay Weinberg, whose involvement was initially thought to be a temporary fill-in due to Fuming Mouth's regular drummer recovering from an injury. However, Weinberg not only performed on all tracks but also received a songwriting credit for his contributions.

Fuming Mouth recorded "The Ringing Bell" at God City Studio in Salem, Massachusetts, a familiar haunt for the band. This marks a continued collaboration with renowned producer Kurt Ballou, guitarist of Converge, who has worked with the band on previous releases.

The album title "The Ringing Bell" carries a powerful dual symbolism for frontman Mark Whelan. It represents both a sense of finality and the beginning of a new chapter, reflecting his personal journey of perseverance and transformation after battling leukemia.

"The Ringing Bell" serves as Fuming Mouth's third full-length album and marks their return to Triple B Records after a previous stint with Nuclear Blast. The album is noted for refining their sound, pushing their death metal and hardcore fusion to new extremes with a focused intensity.

The album's opening track, "Cheat Death," was intentionally crafted by vocalist and guitarist Mark Whelan to deliver a blunt and positive message. Whelan stated it was important to start with a direct statement, setting the stage for the album's overarching theme of a journey from death back to life.
