Salma Salsabil has finally released her long-awaited debut album, Berharap Pada Timur, on Thursday, January 23, 2025. After making waves with her 2023 single “Menghargai Kata Rindu” and a string of follow-up releases, the rising star delivers a full-length record that blends love, nostalgia, and retro pop influences from the ’80s and ’90s.

“The album explores love in different phases—from the spark of new romance to wholehearted devotion and the inevitable moments of doubt. It’s a complete package,” Salma shares.

Among the eight tracks, “Bunga Hati”, released in November 2023, has already earned four awards at the 2024 AMI Awards. Salma also breathes new life into “Memori” (1987), a timeless hit by Indonesian diva Ruth Sahanaya, reimagined with a fresh and modern touch.

Most of the album was co-written with production team S/EEK, with Clara Riva contributing to the title track “Berharap Pada Timur”, a song that reflects Salma’s personal journey through love.

Set to turn 23 on February 12, Salma hopes her debut resonates with listeners. “People have been asking when I’d drop an album, and now it’s finally here! I hope you all enjoy it. Give it a listen—the songs are great, I promise!”
