Pure Saturday returns with their latest single, Dry, released on Friday, January 24, 2025. This marks their first release since dropping the Elora album on vinyl with Grimloc Records in December 2024.
The musical arrangement for Dry was originally composed by bassist Ade Muir back in 2018, before finally being revisited and completed in 2022. For this track, Pure Saturday teamed up with Rekti Yoewono of The SIGIT and Mooner, who not only penned the lyrics but also contributed vocals.
Inspired by the romantic pop sound of the ’90s, Dry delivers Pure Saturday’s signature warmth with a fresh twist, blending seamlessly with Rekti Yoewono’s distinct vocal style. The harmonies they create make this song a perfect addition to your latest playlist.
This collaboration is a testament to the long-standing friendship between Pure Saturday and Rekti, who previously worked together on Utopian Dream from the Grey album (2012).
Adding a visual dimension to the release, Bandung-based painter Dewi Aditia translated the essence of Dry into a vibrant acrylic collage featuring a bird as its central symbol.
